Jefferson Street Corridor Improvements – The Nashville DOT is taking steps towards achieving its 2050 Vision Zero goal by conducting safety studies on corridors identified on its High Injury Network. On historic Jefferson Street, just northwest of the downtown core, a streamlined planning effort led to improvement recommendations including pedestrian refuge islands, removal of unused driveways, addressing the lack of street lighting, improving signal infrastructure for pedestrians, curb extensions to formalize on-street parking areas, and adding streetscaping elements.
